Priced at nearly $1,900, it was a bold product for its time but quickly became a symbol of what the future of computing could look like — portable, accessible, and powerful.

By the early 2000s, Toshiba had cemented itself as a major player in the PC market. In 2011, the company achieved a major milestone, selling 17.7 million units at its peak.
